Refuge Journal 48: Giving Tuesday

Nov 27 2018

Giving Tuesday is a growing international movement to create a charitable day of giving at the beginning of the holiday season. If you choose to participate in Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll consider our story and effort.

We are dedicated to radically transforming communities through the engagement of the Arts. RFA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports creative expression and collaboration. We are working with our municipality, university and local businesses to link compassionate creatives with community need.

Since our forming almost two years ago, we have collaborated with over 20 other community organizations,  adding value through the addition of the arts to their ongoing initiatives. This year, we worked with Lawrence University, Guitars for Vets, City of Appleton, Appleton Boy Choir, Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scouts, On Broadway, Feeding America, African Heritage, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Colors in Bloom, HEAR, Keep America Beautiful, Diverse and Resilient, Homeless Connections, Reach Counseling Services, Lion’s Club, Riverview Gardens, 4th HOOAH, St. Paul Elder Services, NAMI, Emerging Artists of the Fox Valley, St. John Evangelist Homeless Shelter, Mile of Music and several others.

The last year brought over 100 individual artists through our doors for short and longer term residencies where they were able to make use of studios spaces, the chapel and the restorative nature we are surrounded by.

Your donation helps us bring more value to our community through the nurturing of beauty and the connection found in creating it together.

Thank you so much! You can donate here.
