Thank you to all those who came out to join us at Hopeland Festival last weekend in Green Bay’s On Broadway District! Refuge Arts partnered with Fox Communities Credit Union, Wisconsin Public Radio, and 4th HOOAH for the event that brought visual and musical art together to highlight the value of public art in in a community.
We filled the On Broadway District not only with over 50 sets of music, but also with three new uplifting murals (one of which viewers had the opportunity to grab a paintbrush and bring to realization), two sculptures, one live-painting event motivated by musical performance, as well as an alleyway installation/pop-up beer garden filled with light and floral sculpture.
We partnered with local businesses including Kavarna, Keggers, Lyric Room, Black & Tan Lounge, Neville Public Museum, Three Three Five, Cup O Joy, Titletown Brewing Company Roof Tap, and with Fox Communities Credit Union who generously helped to make this gift to our community possible.
With your support from the weekend we were able to raise money for two of 4th HOOAH‘s programs Guitars for Vets and Operation Cold Snap, and purchase 5 guitars for Guitars for Vets! Thank you to all those who came out to enjoy music, visual art, and support a great cause.
