This June, we’re excited to host the Girls Rock Fox Cities program! Girls Rock Fox Cities is part of the educational community outreach programming of Chaminade Women’s Chorus and is a program of the international Girls Rock Camp Alliance (GRCA). The Girls Rock Fox Cities program will provide an opportunity for girls and girl-identifying youth ages 12-18 to take part in an opportunity to be represented in rock music, learn from women in the industry, and showcase their talents at the end of the program.
Applications are due May 1st, and you can use the buttons if you’re interested in participating or volunteering!
Our friend LOLO is coming back to play at Mill Creek on May 23rd with Garrison Starr!
LOLO is a show-stopping singer from Jackson, Tennessee who has, “so much music flowing through [her] that it fills two people” (Associated Press). She has also proven herself a venerable songwriter, from penning hits for Panic! At The Disco’s recent #1 blockbuster album to writing a New York Times raved about off-Broadway musical, Songbird.
Garrison Starr is a singer, songwriter, and record producer based in Los Angeles. Starr has released 15 albums as a solo artist and is known for her vibrant and impassioned live performances. She regularly collaborates with various artists on projects and has found great success writing for TV and film. In 2016, Starr collaborated with long time friend, Margaret Cho, and produced “American Myth.” Starr also co-wrote, played guitar, and sang on the record. The album was nominated for a GRAMMY in the Comedy category.

In conjunction with the National Day of Silence, we were honored to close out the day by hosting the LGBTQ and allied youth event called the Night of Noise. The evening was a celebration of over 100 LGBTQ and allied youth embracing their identity in a safe supportive environment. It included a youth speak up/out promoting messages of love and acceptance along with performances by DJ Afrekete and Lex Allen. The event was sponsored by Colors in Bloom, the radical self-love campaign created by Diverse and Resilient, along with LGBTQ Partnership, Rainbow Over Wisconsin, and Youth Go. We loved hosting this meaningful event and are grateful to the sponsors, artists, and youth who shared their stories with such courage and inspired us so deeply.
Thank you to all who came out to The Howard on Saturday! We missed Adriel Denae and LOLO, but had an amazing evening with a packed house. Thank you for all your support!
